Thai police have arrested a Nigerian national, Ukwe Vincent Chisom, 33, and his Thai wife, Ms. Kesini, 30, over alleged drug trafficking activities in the Sukhumvit district of Bangkok.

The couple was apprehended on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at their condominium on Sri Nakarin Road in Samrong Nuea subdistrict, Muang district, Samut Prakan province, following a Metropolitan Police investigation into their operations.

Officers from the Child and Women Welfare Division carried out surveillance that led to the arrest, during which they recovered 99 grams of cocaine (a Category 2 narcotic), three mobile phones, and other incriminating evidence. Authorities also seized assets linked to the drug trade valued at more than 700,000 baht ($21,660).

Both suspects confessed to illegally crossing into Thailand through Nong Khai province before purchasing drugs in the Sukhumvit area and distributing them in the Sri Nakarin district. Police said the woman rented the condominium and opened multiple bank accounts used to receive drug money transfers.

They were charged with jointly trafficking Category 2 narcotics (cocaine) by possession with intent to distribute, constituting commercial activity that promotes drug proliferation. The Nigerian suspect faces additional charges for entering and residing in Thailand without legal authorization.

The couple has been transferred to Samrong Nuea Police Station for further investigation and prosecution.
