Adeyinka Grandson, a Nigerian man who identifies himself as
the president of the Young Yoruba for Freedom (YYF), is demanding for
Oduduwa Republic and has called on Yorubas all over Nigeria to stand up
and fight for it.
Grandson who is a Nigerian who resides in the UK, is being referred to as
the Nnamdi Kanu of the West for obvious reasons. Grandson shared a video
where he called on all Yoruba indigenes across Nigeria to take part in
what he referred to as “organized violence” towards the actualization
of Oduduwa Republic. He said Yorubas need not be members of the movement
to take action.
Grandson listed the course of action that should be taken towards
actualizing Oduduwa Republic. Some of these actions include; revert the
name Murtala Muhammed International Airport back to its original name
Lagos International Airport, replacing Ahmadu Bello Way, VI with Fela’s
Way, changing the Nigeria Stock Exchange back to the Lagos Stock
Exchange.
He said same should also be done to all Yoruba ports and
waterways seeing as they belong to the Yorubas and not to Nigeria.
He threatened in the video to use biological weapons against the
Hausas and Igbos. He said if met with resistance, his movement will
contaminate the air and water in the North and South-Eastern regions of
Nigeria with biological weapons.
Some Yorubas were not in support of Grandson after his video was made
public and he took to Facebook to criticize them for not buying into
his vision for Oduduwa republic.
