A young Nigerian medical doctor has tragically passed away after reportedly being denied sick leave despite experiencing severe cough and chest pain.
The heartbreaking news was shared by his colleague, Dr. Richard Chukwuezi, in a WhatsApp tribute post, where he expressed shock over the incident and blamed the negligence of Nigeria’s health sector.
Chukwuezi recounted the doctor’s final words:
“I am having serious cough and chest pain. I wanted to take sick leave, dem no gree.” He stated.
