Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Bamidele Tope Saint, widely known as Okemesi, has died.
The entertainer reportedly passed away in a hospital on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at about 11:50 a.m., after slipping into a coma following complications linked to medication administered during treatment.
News of his death was announced by fellow actor, Tony Montana Jeff, in a video shared via Instagram, where he confirmed that Okemesi had been pronounced dead by doctors and that his remains had been deposited in the mortuary.
Speaking in the video, Jeff said the announcement was made on behalf of the Bamidele family, adding that further details regarding burial arrangements would be communicated in due course. He also expressed gratitude to supporters who had shown concern during the actor’s illness and offered prayers for the repose of his soul.
Okemesi was known for his comedic performances and appearances in Nigerian productions, earning recognition among fans for his distinctive style and delivery.
