Nigeria played a 1-1 draw with the Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday evening. Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, used the game to look at
the fringe players in his squad, before he drops five of them ahead of
the England friendly this weekend.

This meant Junior Lokosa and Simeon Nwankwo started in attack.

It was defender William Troost-Ekong who opened scoring in the first
half, prodding in a loose ball in the Congolese area, after a clever
free-kick.

However, the visitors avoided defeat, when Ola Aina was harshly
adjudged to have fouled a player in the area and a penalty was awarded.

Nigeria’s next friendly is against England on June 2.
