A New Jersey insurance executive has reportedly killed his wife and daughter before taking his own life at their home in Montgomery Township, New Jersey.
Authorities identified the deceased as 61-year-old David Grodnick, his 62-year-old wife, Lora Grodnick, and their 24-year-old daughter, Sloane Grodnick. The three were found dead inside the family’s home on Wild Azalea Lane on Friday, October 2, after police were called to conduct a welfare check.
According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, officers initially went to the property on October 1 but could not establish contact with anyone inside. They returned the following day and gained entry shortly before 6 p.m., where they discovered Lora and Sloane in separate bedrooms and David elsewhere in the house with a firearm.

Investigators determined that the deaths of Lora and Sloane were homicides, while David’s death was classified as a suicide. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing but described the incident as isolated, adding that there was no continuing threat to the public.

David Grodnick was a senior vice president and underwriting counsel at Land Services USA, a company involved in commercial real estate transactions. His daughter, Sloane, was a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design and was pursuing a master’s degree at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Police have not publicly disclosed a motive for the killings. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths continues.
