The husband of Ghanaian actress and fashion icon, Nana Akua Addo, has reportedly been arrested by the Ghana Police Service following allegations of domestic violence involving the actress.
The reported arrest came after disturbing videos emerged online showing Nana Akua Addo with visible injuries, including a swollen lip, amid reports of a domestic dispute involving her husband, Harold Duodu Norman.
A separate video that surfaced on social media allegedly shows Norman physically handling and slapping one of their daughters. Nana Akua Addo’s voice can reportedly be heard in the background reacting to the incident and comparing the alleged treatment of the child to the way she had allegedly been assaulted.
The development has sparked widespread concern and outrage on social media, with many calling for the safety and protection of the actress and her children. Norman was reportedly taken into custody as the matter came under investigation by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service.
However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Norman’s legal team has denied allegations of wrongdoing and presented a different account of the events, while Nana Akua Addo’s lawyers have confirmed that the videos circulating online were leaked without her knowledge or consent. They have appealed to media organisations and the public to stop sharing the footage, particularly videos involving the couple’s minor children.
Nana Akua Addo’s legal team said the matter is currently before the appropriate authorities and that the actress would address the issues at the appropriate time.
