NAFEST Plateau 2020 – What to Expect

It is no longer news that the National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST 2020) is scheduled to hold in Jos, the Capital City of Plateau State, starting November 22nd.

The Plateau state government has reiterated its commitment to hosting and delivering one of the best events while adhering to the Covid-19 set guidelines. Governor Simon Lalong said that staging NAFEST presents the state the opportunity to use tourism and culture as a tool for improving the economic fortunes of the people and showcasing the hospitality and beauty of Plateau.

In same light, during an inaugural visit to Plateau state, The Director-General, NAFEST, Segun Runsewe, assured that the whole country is being mobilized to converge in Jos for the festivity. He said NAFEST 2020 will be a historic event because Plateau State is the home of peace and tourism and has a rich cultural history that has been at the centre of national development in many ways, thereby praising Governor Simon Lalong for approving the hosting of the event in the state.

Events to feature at NAFEST include traditional board games, Archery, Indigenous Fabrics competition, children’s Essay Competition and cultural Quiz competition.

Other events are choral music competition, traditional cuisine, children’s indigenous instrumental competition, children’s craft and command performance.

All events will take place at Langfield Leisure park Rayfield and will be observed in accordance with COVID-19 protocol. and will commence on 22nd November and will be rounded off on the 28 of November 2020..
