Naanlong’s Victory in Three Districts Reflects People’s Will — Concerned Mikang APC Youths Reaffirm Support
A group under the aegis of Concerned Mikang APC Youths at Home and in the Diaspora has reaffirmed its support for the outcome of the recently concluded APC primary election in Mikang Constituency, declaring Rt. Hon. Daniel Naanlong as the people’s choice following his victory in three out of the four districts in the constituency.
In a statement signed by the group, the youths described the result of the primary election as a clear indication of the overwhelming grassroots support enjoyed by Rt. Hon. Naanlong among APC members and supporters across Mikang.
The group stated that elections remain the most credible expression of the people’s will, noting that the outcome of the exercise demonstrated the confidence party members have in the leadership and representation of the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
According to the statement, winning three out of four districts was not merely a political statistic, but a strong endorsement of Naanlong’s commitment to service, inclusiveness, and constituency development.
The youths further noted that Rt. Hon. Daniel Naanlong, who currently represents Mikang State Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, has remained a visible and influential voice for the people through years of legislative experience and leadership.
“We stand firmly with the people’s choice. The outcome of the primary election is a direct reflection of the wishes of APC members across Mikang. Winning three out of four districts is a clear mandate from the grassroots and should be respected by all lovers of democracy,” the statement read.
The group called on party faithful, stakeholders, and supporters to respect the outcome of the primary election and avoid actions capable of creating division within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It also urged aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to embrace sportsmanship, accept the verdict of party members, and work together for the continued success of the APC in future elections.
The youths stressed that democracy thrives when the will of the majority is respected, adding that the progress of the party and the development of Mikang should take precedence over personal ambitions and political interests.
They expressed confidence that the people of Mikang had spoken through the ballot and insisted that their collective decision must be respected and upheld in the interest of justice, party unity, and democratic principles.
