Isaac Fayose, the popular social media commentator, has disclosed that his wife is currently battling cancer.
Fayose, who recently traveled to Australia to visit his family, shared the heartbreaking news in a video posted on social media.
Weeping as he spoke about her condition, he told followers that he now has to confront a painful reality. He recalled how his wife would usually pick him up from the airport and cook his favorite meals, but this time she was too weak even to say “welcome.”
In the emotional video, Fayose described sitting by her bedside, singing her favorite hymn, “Abide With Me,” in both English and Yoruba. Although she could not open her eyes or speak, she gently squeezed his hand, showing she could hear him.
Using his personal pain to deliver a broader message, Fayose criticised Nigerian politicians, lamenting that despite his wealth and million-dollar home, money could not heal his wife.
“My wealth couldn’t save my wife,” he said in tears. “Why make other people poor? My own money couldn’t even save her.”
He urged leaders to improve the country’s healthcare system so that every citizen can access quality medical care, highlighting the poor state of hospitals in Nigeria.
