Nigerian monarch, Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi lll is dead.
According to information from the palace, Maigari who is the chairman of the Lokoja traditional council, died at 80 on Wednesday evening, September 28, at a private hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.
He was one of the longest serving traditional rulers in Kogi State, having ascended the throne in 1992.
The Secretary, Lokoja Local Government Traditional Council, Muhammed Nalado Usman confirmed the death of the traditional ruler in a statement issued late Wednesday night.
The statement said the late royal father would be buried on Thursday, September 29, by 3 pm.
