The naira exhibited mixed trends on Tuesday, strengthening in the parallel market while weakening slightly in the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).
In the parallel market, the naira appreciated to ₦1,620 per dollar, up from ₦1,625 per dollar recorded on Monday.
However, in the NFEM, the naira depreciated marginally to ₦1,598.69 per dollar from ₦1,597 per dollar the previous day, a decline of ₦1.69.
Data from FMDQ revealed that the gap between the parallel and official rates narrowed to ₦21.31 per dollar from ₦28 per dollar on Monday.
