The Lagos State Government has appointed content creator Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, popularly known as Mandy Kiss, as a brand ambassador for its Kick Against Drug and Substance Abuse (LASKADA) initiative.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 30, by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, during an event organized by the anti-drug campaign.
In a video from the event, the commissioner said:
“We’re here with Mandy Kiss, and she’s agreed to become one of our LASKADA brand ambassadors. Drugs are a pandemic affecting our streets, our communities, and our society. The government cannot fight this alone. We must work in collaboration with people who can reach as many as possible, and Mandy Kiss has a large followership. With the powers conferred on me, I make her one of our brand ambassadors. So, say no to drugs.”
Ogunlende explained that the appointment was part of efforts to use popular voices and influencers to discourage drug and substance abuse among young people in Lagos.
The decision has drawn public attention given Mandy Kiss’s controversial past. She had previously gone viral after declaring plans to sleep with 100 men in one day, a move that drew criticism and even calls for her arrest. She later clarified that it was a joke.
Defending her new role, the commissioner stressed that her influence could be channeled for positive impact:
“Everybody has a past, nobody’s perfect. But as a brand ambassador for Lagos State Kicks Against Drug Abuse, we believe Mandy Kiss can reach into the nooks and crannies of Lagos to help us in this fight.”
The appointment underscores the government’s strategy of engaging social media figures to amplify awareness against drug abuse across the state.
