Presidential aide Lere Olayinka has criticised businessman Isaac Fayose over his public comments regarding the recent appointment of his elder brother, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose.

The reaction follows President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Ayo Fayose as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) on Monday, July 20.

Isaac Fayose had earlier faulted the appointment in a video posted on social media, describing it as beneath the former governor’s political status. He urged his brother to reject the position, arguing that it did not reflect his experience and contributions to public service.

Responding on X (formerly Twitter), Olayinka condemned Isaac’s remarks, accusing him of publicly ridiculing a member of his own family.

“It is only a bastard that will always come to social media to ridicule their blood elder brother,” Olayinka wrote.

The presidential aide’s comment has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with users divided over Isaac Fayose’s criticism of the appointment and Olayinka’s choice of words.

As of the time of filing this report, Ayo Fayose has not publicly responded to either his brother’s remarks or Olayinka’s reaction.
