Lalong explains grazing reserve policy to Plateau citizens in diaspora

Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau says he has explained the grazing
reserve/ranching Federal Government policy generating controversies to
some Plateau citizens in diaspora.

Lalong said this on Friday in Abuja shortly on arrival from London, United Kingdom, where he addressed the Plateau community.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that series of protests have
been staged for and against the federal government policy which the
state government expressed its desire to key into.

 The governor stated that he took time to explain to them the need and
importance of the concept to the sustenance of the existing peace in the
state.

“I have time to explain to them the controversial concept of grazing reserve and at the end of the day they were all happy.

“I clarified the issue that what they are hearing is political is not
really what Plateau is doing and explain to them the benefits of the
concept,” he said.

He further said that before meeting with the state citizens, he
attended an international economic summit in Liverpool where Vice
President Yemi Osibanjo was suppose lead the delegation but couldn’t
because of his acting President status.

Lalong pointed out that the summit discussed very important issues
bothering on agriculture and technology, among others, to help in the
development of Nigeria’s economy.

According him, those that attended the summit were given the opportunity to choose an area that interested them.

The governor stated that he has spoken invited some investors to visit the state and explore investment opportunities.
