The announcement was made on Monday, October 6, by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, via his official X handle.

According to the Commissioner, the action is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to enforce environmental compliance and maintain cleanliness in markets across Lagos.

This development comes just days after the government also shut down Itedo Market in the Lekki axis for similar environmental offences.
