The Lagos State government has announced its plan to construct a new port in the Badagry area of the state, aimed at alleviating congestion at the Apapa and Tincan Island ports and attracting more investors to the region.
This was made known by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu while hosting the acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, at the Lagos House, Marina.
The Governor who said his administration is committed to making Lagos a business destination for as many investors as possible, further disclosed that they are already in touch with a contractor for the construction of the Badagry Port.
He also said that they will continue to partner with the Nigeria Customs Service to ensure turnaround for the ports in the state to be globally competitive and make Lagos a top destination for West African countries.
