Labour Party Loses Two Lawmakers to PDP

The Labour Party has lost two members of the House of Representatives, Dennis Agbo and Chidi Obetta, who announced their resignation from the party. In a letter to the House leadership, the lawmakers declared their decision to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday, May 6.
According to the Agbo and Obetta, they would be leaving the Labour Party to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
While Agbo represents Igbo-Eze North/Udenu constituency, Obetta serves as the lawmaker representing Nsukka/Igboeze South Federal Constituency, both in Enugu State.
The lawmakers’ defection comes barely hours after the National Assembly resumed plenary following its return from recess since April 27.
