Kano State Government to Provide N20,000 Stipend to Schoolgirls

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has announced a new initiative aimed at promoting girls’ education in the state.

In his Independence Day broadcast, the governor disclosed that the state government would provide a stipend of N20,000 to every schoolgirl as part of efforts to encourage them to attend school.

Gov. Yusuf revealed that over 45,000 schoolgirls would benefit from the pilot scheme.

“To support girls-child education and encourage parents to send their daughters to school, we are issuing a stipend of N20,000 to over 45,000 girl-child as a pilot scheme to support them to continue schooling.

“We are also re-introducing the girl-child school buses to transport them to and from schools,” the Governor said.
