Renowned Kannywood actor Mato Na Mato, popularly known as Malam Nata’ala, has passed away after a prolonged illness.
The veteran actor, who hailed from Potiskum in Yobe State, was best known for his memorable role as an almajiri school teacher in the popular Arewa24 Hausa drama series “Dadin Kowa.”
Before his death, Malam Nata’ala had taken to social media on several occasions to seek financial assistance for his medical treatment. His public appeals eventually drew the attention of Niger Republic’s President, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, who reportedly donated ₦27 million to support his medical care.
His passing has left fans and colleagues in Kannywood mourning the loss of one of the industry’s respected talents.
