Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking another significant shift in his political alignment.
El-Rufai completed his registration and received his ADC membership card at the party’s office in U/Sarki Ward, Kaduna State. He was accompanied by a large contingent of loyal supporters, including former appointees and local government chairmen.
The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, who was a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), left the ruling party earlier this year for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In his resignation letter to the SDP dated November 26, 2025, El-Rufai said his decision to exit the party was driven by his commitment to helping build a “unified democratic platform” capable of providing Nigerians with a credible political alternative.
“I wish to notify that I have resigned my membership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, effective 26 November, 2025,” he stated.
El-Rufai’s latest move to the ADC is expected to reshape political permutations ahead of the coming election cycle.
