The Plateau State Government has announced a further relaxation of the curfew imposed in Jos North Local Government Area following what it described as a significant improvement in the security situation.
The decision, reached in consultation with security agencies, takes effect from Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Under the new directive, the curfew will now run from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Lohya Ramnap, residents were advised to strictly comply with the revised curfew hours.
The government commended citizens for their cooperation and support, noting that their collective efforts have contributed to the improved security being experienced in the area.
It also urged residents to sustain the peaceful conduct and continue working with authorities to restore full normalcy across Jos North and the wider state.
While reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the government called on the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
The curfew was initially imposed following recent disturbances in the area as part of measures to contain the situation and restore order.
