It started as a wake-up-call for concerned entertainment personalities on the plateau to #SaveJTownArtiste and later led to a 3rd of March meeting tagged “JTown ENTERTAINERS CONGRESS JEC” with the entertainment industry as centre focus. Present were passionate entertainment people, OAP’s, Musicians,Record Label owners, Producers, managers, Actors, Dancers, Directors, Promoters etc. They all came to discuss the way forward for entertainment on the plateau especially with the forth coming “Plateau @40” celebration. Despite all the positive deliberation and conclusion for the way forward, It was glaring that a headway will not be made without calling the attention of PMAN Plateau State Chapter and therefore its best if the leadership of PMAN is reached for further explanation as to what is happening to entertainment on the plateau.
Concerned Artiste aka Jtown Entertainers Congress later crashed into PMAN Plateau state chapter meeting on 4th of March 2016 to make complain about issues affecting the growth of the entertainment industry on the Plateau. The issues discuss as follows:
1.The JEC made it clear that “jtownartiste” want PMAN Plateau State to succeed and stand strong but don’t
have the information about what is going on in PMAN Plateau State.
2. PMAN Plateau State is insisting on artists to register to join but, The JEC is saying that “artists”
don’t have a problem with the registration but, want to know what
benefit will be gotten from registering? And are ready to join and
support PMAN Plateau State.
3. JEC also asked PMAN to use their power to ensure
that “Jtown Artists” get 70% representation in the forthcoming
Plateau @40 celebration. And PMAN assured that jtown artists will get
90% representation and equal pay with all artists coming from outside
Jos and that details well be made public soon.
4. The JEC also made it clear that the concerns were about the growth of the industry not just Plateau @40 event.
In conclusion it was agreed that in a bid to foster unity and understanding
between PMAN and Jtown Artiste there will be a meet on Wednesday 9th
March 2016 at Azi Nyako Youth Center by 4pm between PMAN Plateau State officials and
Jtown Artiste.
JTown Entertainment Congress therefore uses this medium to call on everyone who is an Entertainer on the Plateau to come out for this meeting come Wednesday 9th March 2016 at Azi Nyako Youth Center by 4pm
