The Jos Family Christmas Festival 3.0 is currently lighting up the city of Jos with culture, entertainment and family-friendly activities as it continues at the Christmas Village, located at the Airforce Base Roundabout along Jonah Jang Way.
The 10-day festival, which commenced on December 21 and will run until December 31, has drawn residents and visitors to a rich blend of cultural displays, entertainment and educational programmes, all in line with its theme, “Experience the Magic. Discover the Plateau.”
Speaking at the presentation of certificates and gifts to winners of the Primary and Secondary School Essay Competition, the General Manager of the Plateau State Tourism Corporation, Mr. Chuwang Pwajok, praised participating students for their creativity, intelligence and strong understanding of Plateau State’s tourism potential.
Pwajok described the essay competition as a deliberate initiative aimed at nurturing young talents while instilling pride in the state’s cultural heritage, natural attractions and core values. He noted that engaging children through intellectual activities such as essay writing promotes early tourism education, critical thinking and responsible citizenship.
He also commended teachers and parents for their guidance and support, and applauded the organisers of the Jos Family Christmas Festival for sustaining an initiative that effectively blends education with celebration.
In addition to the essay competition, the festival featured activities such as the Little Miss Tourism contest, DJ and Dance competitions, as well as a raffle draw, adding colour and excitement to the children’s fun fair segment of the event.
The Jos Family Christmas Festival 3.0 continues to provide a platform for cultural promotion, youth development and family bonding, while reinforcing Plateau State’s commitment to tourism growth and community engagement during the festive season.
