JEC Meeting 13th June, 2016 at Dimples Lounge, Rayfield Jos.
The meeting started with the Speaker of Jos Entertainers Congress Mr Solomon Inusa, as he addressed those sited on the journey thus far and on the emergency of Jos entertainers congress{ JEC which is a combination of all entertainers and stakeholders in the industry with a strong resolve to make entertainment more viable in Plateau State].
He spoke at length on the progress so far made especially as it regards uncovering those who have held the industry down, putting only their faces out and enriching themselves while the industry is left to suffer. He said it belongs to all and must not be left to suffer.
Solomon further explained that more revelation was gotten when Lagos was contacted as to PMAN activities on the plateau of which the national body led by Mr Pretty Okafor stated that, it does not recognize any body or group as PMAN on the Plateau.
The Nation president further expressed willingness to work with Plateau state and help to put it in place, PMAN national then asked the Jos Entertainers Congress, to factor out Credible people who will now form a transition committee and Structure a new PMAN for proper elections as the PMAN Constitution Stipulates. Afterwards the nominations were made and names were forwarded from a JEC meeting to PMAN national in Lagos. That later led to an invitation for the Chairman, Mr Wudel Goyomma to attend the national executive meeting inLagos.
Mr Solomon Inusa ended by encouraging all to support the industry as it has suffered for so long and called out the new PMAN executive committee, they are;
- Chairman – Wudel Goyomma
- Vice Chairman – Vou Vanessa Choji
- Secretary – Vincent Yoko
- PRO – Andrew Gogwim
- Treasurer – Kate Miri
- Financial Secretary – Sibin Benjamin
After introduction, the new PMAN Chairmanm Mr Wudel Goyomma, Started by thanking all entertainers in Plateau State for the support and spoke on his willingness to further the course and propel the state artiste to attainable hights.
He then explained how the National Executive Meeting in Lagos went and later mentioned the benefits of joining PMAN and becoming a card carrying member.
The question and answer session was key and amongst was an allegation that some OAP’s ask artist to register as PMAN members before they can gain airplay, some even went further to say they have registered partly or gave money at different occasions as PMAN registration. The bigger revelation was made when the treasurer of the dis-functional PMAN stood up to say he was a member of the group who claimed to be PMAN and attested that ever since assuming such office over the Years he has never received a kobo being the treasure and that led to his resignation from the group.
The meeting ended with encouraging words from those who spoke, notably was Veteran Actor/broadcaster Sani Muazu, saying he has followed through the journey so far and he was relieved that the entertainers have ressolved to make it work, he further urged them saying the Leadership is not all that matters but the effective implementation of ideas and proper management.
The gathering was then entertained with some musical performances and distribution of PMAN Expression of Interest forms to artist.
