The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has appealed to candidates to remain patient as the portal for printing the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) original result slips is yet to be activated.

This was disclosed in an official statement issued on Tuesday by JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

According to the board, the delay is connected to the recent completion of foreign examinations and preparations for a mop-up examination for candidates who were unable to participate in the main exercise due to circumstances beyond their control.

JAMB explained that the UTME is a ranking examination, and as such, the original result slips contain candidates’ ranking details, making it necessary for all related processes to be concluded before the slips can be released for printing.

The board assured candidates that the portal would be activated once all adjustments and necessary procedures have been completed.

It also pledged to promptly notify candidates and stakeholders as soon as the printing process becomes available.

JAMB apologised for the inconvenience caused by the delay and appealed for understanding from candidates, parents and other stakeholders affected by the development.

The delay has, however, generated concern among many candidates, some of whom have taken to social media to express frustration over the inability to access their original scores ahead of post-UTME screenings and admission processes.

Some candidates also noted that the result slips are important for making decisions regarding change of course or institution.

Meanwhile, the examination body had earlier enabled candidates to check their UTME results through SMS using their registered phone numbers.

The development comes shortly after JAMB announced 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for university admissions for the 2026 academic session.
