Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has issued a stern warning to an individual impersonating her on Facebook using her name and pictures to deceive the public.
The actress revealed that the impersonator operates a blog with over 2.7 million followers, where false stories are posted under her identity.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo expressed anger over how the fake account has been misleading her fans.
She said, “This video is directed to whoever it is that is impersonating me and using my name. It has 2.7 million followers on Facebook. I have tried to report this account to Facebook. The person went and changed it to Iyabo Ojo Lovers, so at the time, Facebook thought it was my fan page. This is not my page. I don’t know who owns it, and I don’t know who created it.”
Iyabo warned the impersonator to remove her name and pictures from the page, stating that she would ensure the account gets taken down if the person fails to comply.
She further lamented that the impersonator has been copying her posts and publishing random stories, making people believe she runs the blog.
“I know there are a lot of people impersonating me on Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms, but this particular one has been verified and has a lot of followers. Every day, I keep getting messages from people asking if I made certain posts,” she added.
