Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has disclosed that he recently underwent successful treatment for a malignant prostate tumor, which was detected during his annual medical examination.

The 76-year-old leader said he chose to announce the diagnosis only after a delay of about two months, explaining that he did not want the information to be “used as propaganda” by Iran.

According to details released from his medical team, follow-up examinations after a previous prostate procedure in December 2024 revealed a small malignant lesion measuring less than one centimeter. Doctors confirmed it was detected early, with no evidence of spread or metastasis.

Medical reports described the condition as a very small, localized growth that was fully treatable. Netanyahu reportedly underwent targeted radiation therapy, which has since been completed successfully.

Sources familiar with the matter indicated the diagnosis was made several months earlier than publicly disclosed, but the treatment progressed without complications.

In a personal reflection following his recovery, Netanyahu said the lesion had “disappeared completely,” adding, “Thank God, I am healthy.” He described the situation as a minor medical issue that was fully resolved.

The announcement follows earlier reports that the Israeli leader had undergone surgery in December 2024 for an enlarged prostate, before the subsequent discovery of the cancerous lesion during routine follow-up checks.
