The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) under former Senate President, David Mark, as the party’s authentic national executive.
The confirmation was published on INEC’s official website, listing Mark as the National Chairman of the ADC.
Also recognized are Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, Mani Ibrahim Ahmad as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as National Legal Adviser.
The development comes amid a lingering leadership tussle within the party, which intensified after a coalition of political leaders announced plans to adopt the ADC as their platform for the 2027 general elections.
A faction of the party had opposed the coalition’s move, arguing that David Mark, Aregbesola, and other figures were not duly registered members and therefore had no legal right to claim the party’s leadership.
INEC’s recognition of the David Mark-led faction appears to settle the dispute, establishing his team as the officially acknowledged executives of the ADC.
