Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has ordered a thorough investigation into an incident involving Fuji singer Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5.

The directive follows an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), which also petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation over the matter.

According to reports, KWAM 1 was caught on video standing in front of an aircraft, preventing it from taxiing after airline officials allegedly refused to let him board with a flask suspected to contain alcohol.

In a statement on Tuesday, August 12, Force spokesperson DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the IGP has instructed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to immediately investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure justice is served.

Adejobi assured that the police remain committed to maintaining safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, pledging stronger collaboration with stakeholders to enforce aviation laws and enhance airport security.
