Hundreds of Women Rally in Support of State of Emergency in Rivers

A large number of women flooded the streets of Port Harcourt on Monday in a show of support for the recently declared state of emergency in Rivers State.

Clad in white attire, the women converged at the popular Garrison Bus Stop in the city centre as early as 8 a.m. before embarking on a peaceful march.

Chanting solidarity songs and waving placards, the women marched along Aba Road toward the Rivers State Government House, expressing their backing for the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd.).

Recall that last week, hundreds of women, under the aegis of ‘Rivers Women for Sim,’ staged a protest against the state of emergency and the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
