A woman has shared an emotional tribute to a doctor who advised her against permanently tying her fallopian tubes, saying his counsel became deeply meaningful after the heartbreaking loss of her seven-year-old son.
In a Facebook post, the mother recounted that while pregnant with twins last year, she had planned to undergo an elective caesarean section and requested that her fallopian tubes be tied during the procedure because she believed she was done having children.
According to her, although her doctor initially agreed, he later changed his mind when she arrived to sign the consent forms.
She said the doctor encouraged her to reconsider, explaining that she was still young and that life was unpredictable. He reportedly told her she could one day experience circumstances, such as divorce or the loss of a child, that might make her regret making the decision permanent.
The woman said she repeatedly pleaded with him to proceed with the sterilisation, but he refused.
She revealed that her perspective changed after the death of her seven-year-old son on April 1, 2026.
Reflecting on the doctor’s advice, she expressed gratitude for his decision, saying she now understands why he insisted she should not undergo the procedure.
She ended her post by thanking the doctor for his guidance and encouraging others to value good advice, especially when making life-changing decisions.
