Harrogate residents are reportedly buying the largest adult toys in the UK, according to Lovehoney’s 2026 Sex Map, with the North Yorkshire town recording an average purchase size of 7.35 inches.
The spa town, known for its gardens and historic Turkish Baths, topped Lovehoney’s annual ranking after failing to make the top five last year.
Harrogate narrowly surpassed last year’s winner, Hereford, where the average purchase measured 7.13 inches.
Blackpool ranked second with an average of 7.33 inches, followed by Huddersfield at 7.32 inches. Preston came fourth at 7.29 inches, while Coventry completed the top five at 7.27 inches.
Across the UK, the average adult toy purchased in 2026 measured 7.07 inches, an increase from 6.84 inches recorded the previous year.
None of last year’s top five locations — Hereford, Jersey, Inverness, Twickenham and Hemel Hempstead — featured in this year’s ranking.
At the other end of the list, Llandrindod Wells in Powys recorded the smallest average purchases among the locations surveyed, at 6.64 inches. West London followed with 6.68 inches, while the Isle of Man recorded 6.77 inches. Paisley ranked fourth at 6.80 inches, with East London fifth at 6.81 inches.
The Lovehoney data also highlighted locations where residents purchased the highest overall volume of adult toys.
Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire topped the list in England, while Alloa recorded the highest demand in Scotland. Enniskillen ranked first in Northern Ireland.
In Wales, the Clwyd region recorded particularly strong demand, with Mold leading the ranking, followed by Abergele, Rhyl and Wrexham.
