Gunmen have killed an executive member of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), identified as Emmanuel Agara, in Plateau State.
The incident reportedly occurred in Dantanko community, Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
Security sources said troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), Sector 3, responded to a distress report at about 6:50 a.m. on June 16, 2026, after residents alerted authorities to a suspicious situation in the area.
On arrival, security personnel discovered the body of Mr. Agara with a gunshot wound. He was later confirmed dead at the scene.
The area was immediately cordoned off by troops, while the remains of the deceased were evacuated for further necessary procedures.
Authorities said investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing and to identify those responsible.
Security operatives have since intensified patrols in the community and surrounding areas to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
