Unidentified gunmen have attacked the Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting a pregnant woman, ten children, two nursing mothers, and several others.
According to community sources, between 20 and 30 armed bandits stormed the area, moving with a large herd of cattle and shooting indiscriminately. During the assault, a stray bullet reportedly struck an elderly woman.
A community leader who spoke with National Pilot confirmed that 11 people were taken, including seven members of the same family. Those abducted include: Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat (a housewife), Fatima Yusufu (a housewife), Sarah Sunday (pregnant woman), Lami Fidelis (a nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah.
The attackers were said to have fled through bush paths linking Eruku to neighbouring communities, leaving residents terrified and uncertain about their safety.
This latest assault comes barely two weeks after bandits invaded the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), abducting 38 worshippers, while others were reported dead during the attack. All 38 abducted victims from the church incident have since been rescued.
