Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved a new round of appointments across education, transport, and government protocol offices.
In the education sector, Dr. Idowu Eluwa was named Provost of the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu, while Joe Emerson was appointed Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council.
For government protocol, Uche Mark Nwosu was appointed Chief Protocol Officer to the Governor, with Ikechukwu Nwankwo as Deputy Chief Protocol Officer. Others named include Emmanuel Irechi, Amarachi Inyama, and Augustine Chukwuebuka as Protocol Officers, while Adaeze Iroegbu was appointed Chief Moderator to the Governor. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa was also named Chief Liaison Officer/National Assembly Liaison Officer.
In the transport sector, the Governor appointed Emmanuel Ufomba as Chairman of the Abia State Transport Corporation (ABIA). He will be supported by members Godanswer Kalu, Mrs. Salomey Onwu, Kingsley Oriaku, and Onyebuchi Nna.
Other appointees include Chima Ukwa as Special Assistant on Sports, Christian Enwerenmadu as Special Adviser on Agriculture, and Mrs. Chinenye Nwaka as Senior Special Assistant on Women Affairs.
The appointments, announced in a statement on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, take immediate effect.
