DIRECTORATE OF PRESS & PUBLIC AFFAIRS
OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR, PLATEAU
STATE
PRESS RELEASE
The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong is saddened
with the spate of insecurity in Bokkos and Bassa Local Government Areas that
has culminated in the loss of lives and properties recently. This to say the
least is unfortunate and highly condemnable.
In the light of the above therefore, he warns criminal elements to allow
peace to reign on the Plateau or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
Governor Lalong therefore, commiserates with these communities
particularly the families that have lost their loved ones and properties. He
assures them that government will do everything humanly possible within its
mandate to secure lives and properties of its citizens, not only in these Local
Government Areas but in the entire state.
He has therefore directed the security agencies to take charge and stop
the situation from further escalating.
Governor Simon Bako Lalong calls on all the peace loving citizens of
Plateau State to be vigilant and sensitive to strange elements around them and
report such to the appropriate authorities, adding that they should remain calm
and go about their normal duties without any fear of intimidation and
molestation.
