Plans are currently on to upgrade the Gindiri Theological Seminary Mangu LGA to a Doctorate Degree awarding institution.
The Gindiri Theological Seminary located at Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State is the citadel of learning which was established over 82 years ago to provide manpower to the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) that presently has a capacity of over 700 students.

This was disclosed to newsmen when the Provost, Rev. Dr. Patrick Atokor accompanied by the Registrar, Rev. Dr. Iliya Kachalla of Gindiri Theological Seminary Mangu LGA, paid a courtesy visit to the state commissioner of information and communication, Hon Dan Manjang at his off on Tuesday, 2nd of March 2021.
The Commissioner also a former, a former Lecturer of Institution was described as one who had vast knowledge of the ancient language of the Hebrews and further commended on his numerous contributions to education, human capital development and societal transformation as an astute Theologian.
Rev. Dr. Patrick Atokor said they will continue to pray for those in authority and give them the needed supports to succeed in line with Biblical teaching thereby pleading for government intervention as they face challenges militating against the progress of the Institution.
He said the institution is working towards the actualization of its dual mandates which are spiritual upliftment and national transformation and further stated that though the institution presently offers Degree and Master Degree programmes plans are currently on to upgrade it with Doctorate Degree programmes.
Hon. Dan Manjang, commended the Institution for the role it is playing in moulding the people spiritually, morally and physically through sound theological education. hinting that the State government is already constructing a Library at Karl Kumm University Vom Jos South LGA to assist in boosting its infrastructural capacity.
And went on to reiterate the commitment of the present government to investing in viable projects and ideas that will transform the State and impact the citizens.
Manjang said the government will continue to do its best in providing good governance to the citizens and called for prayers by the people to enable to government.
The visit had in attendance, the Permanent Secretary, Elder Michael Pam, Director of Information Mrs. Theodora Damulak and other top management staff of the States Ministry of Information and Communication and all appreciated the delegation for the visit and assured the team that the government will partner with the Institution in the best possible ways.
