Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka is facing a new challenge in English football as Coventry City battle to avoid an immediate return to the Championship following their promotion to the Premier League.
Onyeka joined Coventry City on loan from Brentford in January 2026 and played a role in the Sky Blues’ Championship-winning campaign. His move was made permanent on June 29, 2026, as Coventry prepared for their first Premier League season in 25 years.

Coventry secured promotion after winning the 2025/26 Championship title with 95 points from 46 matches, finishing 11 points ahead of Ipswich Town.
