The highly anticipated final match of the Kaduna Christian Cup, organized by Lighthouse Rescue Sports Outreach (LRSO), took place on Sunday 22nd September 2024 between two top contenders: Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) – Arena of Grace, and Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA). In a closely contested game, RCCG emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over ECWA.
Despite rainy weather, supporters from both churches gathered in large numbers, creating an electric atmosphere throughout the match. The solitary goal secured RCCG’s place as champions in the thrilling Kaduna Christian Cup football competition.
The final match was graced by notable pastors and dignitaries, including Rev. Habila Wasam Jnr., Chaplain of the Nigeria Police Headquarters in Kaduna, Pastor Mrs. Nnaji from RCCG Kaduna, and a representative of Rev. Bagu from ECWA. Also in attendance was Engr. Albert Solomon from KSMC Radio Kaduna and a group of about ten elders from various denominations such as ECWA, RCCG, Baptist, Charis Word Bible Church, EYN, and COCIN.
Three referees officiated the match, ensuring a fair and competitive game. Organized by LRSO, the event brought church communities together, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. Despite the rain, the tournament concluded successfully, with participants and attendees enjoying the competition.
