Five people have been hospitalised after a dog suspected to be infected with rabies attacked residents in Yobe State.
The incident, which caused panic in the affected community, left the victims with varying degrees of injuries before the dog was eventually subdued.
The injured residents were rushed to a medical facility, where they are currently receiving treatment and necessary medical intervention to prevent rabies infection.
Health authorities have urged anyone who may have come into contact with the dog to seek immediate medical attention, stressing that prompt treatment is critical in preventing the spread of the disease.
