Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, has criticised the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) over its newly released National Campaign Council list ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bwala made the remarks in a post on X on Sunday, October 25, shortly after the party announced the composition of its campaign council.
“Peter Obi and NDC have released their list of campaign council members; and as expected it is filled with content creators,” he wrote.
He further accused the party of failing to disclose the identities of its alleged media surrogates in mainstream broadcasting, claiming that some were operating under the guise of on-air personalities (OAPs).
The NDC had earlier announced the formation of the council, which is expected to coordinate its nationwide campaign activities and mobilise support for its candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
Under the announced structure, the party’s National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, will serve as chairman, while its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will be co-chairman. The party’s vice-presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was named co-vice-chairman, while Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe was appointed vice-chairman.
Other appointments include Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu as council secretary and Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim as Director-General of the presidential campaign.
The party said the council would provide strategic leadership, coordinate campaign activities across the country and drive mobilisation behind its vision of a “new, just, and prosperous Nigeria.”
Bwala’s comments have added to the political exchanges surrounding the emerging campaign structures ahead of the 2027 general elections. He did not identify the individuals he accused of serving as undisclosed media surrogates in his post.
