FIFA President Gianni Infantino has presented Spain’s players with the first-ever FIFA World Cup winners’ rings following their triumph at the 2026 tournament.
The presentation took place in Spain’s dressing room shortly after La Roja secured a dramatic 1-0 extra-time victory over defending champions Argentina in the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium. Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute to hand Spain their second FIFA World Cup title.
Ahead of the final, FIFA announced the introduction of bespoke championship rings, marking a departure from football tradition. A total of 30 custom-made gold rings were produced exclusively for the newly crowned world champions.
Infantino fulfilled that promise after the trophy presentation, personally handing the commemorative rings to the Spanish players as they celebrated their historic victory.
The rings, inspired by the championship traditions of major American sports, are being awarded for the first time in FIFA World Cup history, making Spain the inaugural recipients of the unique honour.
