Men of the Lagos state police command have been stationed at the Lekki tollgate as Nigerians prepare for the EndSARS memorial procession today 20th October 2022.
A drive/walk-through procession is scheduled to commemorate the second anniversary of the shootings which took place at the Lekki toll gate on the 20th of October 2020.
The Lagos state police command and their combat vehicles have been stationed at the tollgate to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
However, the overwhelming presence of the policemen at the Lekki Toll Gate is creating some level of apprehension for those at the scene and mixed feelings as Nigerians react on social media.
While some question the security operatives’ presence at the scene of the #EndSARS Memorial Procession, others believe they are there to ensure the event is peaceful.
