Family members and friends are mourning the death of Fausat Yusuf, a Nigerian woman who reportedly passed away six weeks before her scheduled wedding.
Fausat died on Thursday, November 5, 2026, just days after celebrating her birthday.
She got engaged to her fiancé, Jacob Gambo Kpasaba, in June, and the couple had fixed December 19, 2026, for their wedding.
Following news of her death, friends and relatives took to Facebook to express their grief, recalling the preparations that had been made for the wedding.
One mourner, Eli Obadiah, wrote that while the couple had been counting down to December 19, death came before the anticipated celebration.
Another tribute described the tragedy, saying the wedding gown was ready and the date had been set, but Fausat would never get to walk down the aisle.
Friends also called on the public to remember her family and fiancé in their prayers during the difficult period.
