The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has denounced a viral Whatsapp message claiming that the apex bank will be shutting down financial transactions from Thursday, February 23 till Monday, February 27.
According to the viral message, bank networks will be unavailable so politicians will not be able to buy votes.
The apex bank debunked this on its Instagram page, describing it as fake news.
