Enugu State Commissioner Of Police Removed Due To Fulani Herdsmen Attack


The Inspector-General of Police is doing all that he can to ensure
that the brutal killings done by Fulani herdsmen in Enugu state does not
happen again.



Recalling what he said when he paid a
condolence visit to the people of Ukpabi Nimbo community that all those
involved in the killing must b prosecuted and steps are already been
taken to ensure the next time they strike they would meet their end.


After the brutal killing of perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen in Enugu
state, the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase removed Nwodibo
Ekechukwu, the Enugu State Police Commissioner and has appointed
Emmanuel Ojukwu as the new commissioner of police fo the state.


The news appointed commissioner of police of Enugu state has been the
commissioner of police eastern port command and has been the Nigerian
Police Force Public Relations Officer.


However the removal of the former commissioner of police might be
connected with the revelation made by the state governor, Governor
Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that prior to the Enugu state attack, he had
intelligence information that the Fulani herdsmen would strike and he
passed the same info to the police and security agencies but yet it
could not be prevented.


Olabisi Kolawole, the Force Public Relation Officer confirmed the
removal of the Enugu state commissioner by the Police Force
headquarters.
