World’s richest man and tech billionaire, Elon Musk, has alleged that his critics want him dead because he is disrupting fraud and corruption within the U.S. government.

Musk made the claim during an interview with Fox News, which he also shared on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).

His comments came after anti-Elon Musk and President Donald Trump protests rocked the streets of the US on April 5, 2025.
Reacting, Musk said he and his business, Tesla, are targets because he is stopping what he described as “terrible waste and corruption in government”.
“They basically want to kill me because I’m stopping their fraud. And they want to hurt Tesla because we’re stopping this terrible waste and corruption in the government,” he said.

“I guess they’re bad people, and bad people will do bad things.”
Musk, who is an advisor to President Trump and leader at the Department of Government Efficiency, has carried out several probes in federal agencies and departments, including Defence, the Treasury Department, Education, Health, and USAID, to cut down the cost of governance.
