Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, recently met with ex-Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, sparking speculations about potential opposition alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting had in attendance a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue State, Chris Abbah.
Recently, El-Rufai also met with the chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Shehu Gabam, as well as a former chief security Officer to late Gen. Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha, and Segun Sowunmi, an ally of Atiku Abubakar.
The closed-door meeting, held at the SDP Secretariat in Abuja, reviewed the state of opposition engagement in the country.
Speaking about the meeting, Gabam said he was open to conversations centred around a better Nigeria.
