Spanish giants, Barcelona’s march towards the 2017/2018 La Liga title continued on
Saturday, as they defeated fierce rivals Real Madrid 3-0 at the Santiago
Bernabeu stadium.
Real, fresh from their Club World Cup triumph in the United Arab
Emirates, needed a positive result to stay in touch with Ernesto
Valverde’s men.
However, it was Barca that struck first through Luis Suarez, after a fine passing move.
The hosts went down to 10 men, after Dani Carvjal handled the ball in
the area. Lionel Messi stepped up and smashed the penalty past Keylor
Navas.
There was still time for Messi to set up Aleix Vidal for the third in stoppage time.
